Received my book when I was predicted I would receive it. This is a required book for the Health Information Management Technology course I am taking. The print is just the right size and I like that its lightweight. I like that the case scenarios are at the beginning of the chapters and not at the end so that as you read the chapter you get a better understand of what is going on in the case scenario. The review questions are definitely a good tester to see if you understood what you just read. If not, go back and reread that section.
"The Effective Health Care Supervisor by Charles R. McConnell" is the best textbook on management so far (I have read a few). This textbook contains lessons that are applicable for years to come. This is one text book that I will keep for my life long career. Thanks Mr. McConnell for a textbook that is easy to read yet very effective in teaching the hardest skills of managing people.* I purchased all my textbook at Amazon (no shipping if registered as a student).
This book was for a coworker of mine. It came in a timely fashion and has a lot of great information that is applicable to people outside of healthcare and those in supervisory roles. I've read it even though it was for his class.
My husband needed this book for one of his classes. He thought the content was good and applicable to management. He did say that some chapters were redundant and that messages may have been a little longwinded to explain simple concepts.
Book arrived as advertised and on time.
My chief of MH requested this book and uses parts of the book in group sessions with the other supervisors under her. They discuss items in the book and ways to implement those items into the daily care of our patients and staff under them. She thinks highly of the book.
Gave it a five stars because the book is truly as described and arrived sooner than I expected.Need the book for an upcoming class and was happy to see it was available cheaper than at school.Very interesting read. Can't wait to start class and use text.
The style of writing in this book resembles a person talking or lecturing to you. I like it when a textbook is really organized and presents the necessary information in a proper manner. I had to weed out a lot of unnecessary verbose sentences in order to get to the main point that the author is driving at.
